Sri Samik Bhaduri
Samik Bhaduri son of Pandit Arun Bhaduri is an young and talented tabla player. He took his lessons on Tabla from Pandit Samar Saha of Benaras and Lakhnow Gharana. He also took Classical Vocal Music training from his father and Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty for 8 long years before he reclined more towards Tabla.
By professions he is a Information Technology professional and a MBA working as a senior officer in The Calcutta Stock Exchange Association Ltd.
He regularly accompanies all the renowned artists of Kolkata both in Classical as well as non classical music. Samik toured in UK and USA in 1993 and participated in the first ever all night Indian classical music concert in the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Hall in London where he accompanied Pt. Ajoy Chakrabarty. The same year he participated in the 13th Banga Sanmelan in Los Angeles.
Samik accompanied his father in the tour of UK, USA and Canada in 1995 as tabla player. Other than several concerts, he successfully convened some lecture demonstration and classes on Hindusthani Classical Music in some colleges in the UK and participated in some duet concerts with one of the famous drummer of Africa. He took part in the 15th Banga Sanmelan in New York.
Presently Samik is the assistant Secretary of Sangeet Piyasi (www.sangeetpiyasi.com) the Musical organisation which mainly promotes young talents in Indian Classical Music along with other music related jobs.
Samik is one of the senior member and active participants of "Chhanda Bichitra" the Tabla Orchestra composed and directed by Pt. Samar Saha.
